The topic that I have chosen for the second assignment is about surveillance. According to the Cambridge dictionary, the meaning of surveillance is ‘’the careful watching of a person or place, especially by the police or government because of a crime that has happened or is expected.’’ Surveillance can be a good thing to the society and yet privacy could also be invaded as the same time, therefor the main idea of this video is to discuss the pros and cons about surveillance.
For the planning part, our lecturer Bob have told us to do some research about our topic during class and he also gave out information for each topic, videos were also shown so that we could get more ideas while we are doing our assignment. For the editing part, I will be using iMovie as my editing software as it is straight forward and easy to handle. But for this assignment, we have to pay attention for copy rights, as I will be using music from an online software called ‘SoundCloud’ for my background music in my video. The music that I have chosen for this video will be defined as ‘lofi’, I think it will give my audience a more relax feeling and meanwhile I will be narrating for the entire video.
Lessons that I have learnt from my last video was my audio wasn’t loud enough, therefor this time I have attached my airpods as my microphone while I was doing my A roll shots and for my B roll, I have used an actual microphone to do the voice over in order to narrate my information and to avoid the audio issue. To conclude, making this was pretty straight forward but there’s also some copy right issue that we have to be aware of.
